Our Story

Envision Blind Sports' history began in the 1990's, when Wendy Fagan first discovered blind sports while attending Texas Woman's University. She and her husband, Mark, launched a men's goalball team in Fort Worth, Texas, working with an incredible group of athletes who amplified her passion for blind sports.

When Wendy and Mark later moved back to Pennsylvania, she set her sights on creating a grassroots program for children who were blind and visually impaired. In 2006, VIP Sports Camp was born, starting with just 17 athletes and a week of introduction to blind sports. The fearlessness of those early athletes and staff sparked something special and the program steadily grew year after year.

The summer camp continues today, now known as Envision Blind Sports Camp. Wendy rebranded the program as Envision Blind Sports in 2017 when it became a nonprofit organization and expanded its mission far beyond a single camp, offering year-round sports clinics, outdoor recreation, and educational awareness opportunities for athletes and communities across the region.
